A Warhammer 40,000 Novella The Red Gobbo is beloved by gretchin everywhere - a symbol of revolution, freedom and, at the very least, an afternoon off work. Orks, on the other hand, think the Red Gobbo is rubbish. READ IT BECAUSE Follow a painboy as he tries to cheer up a bunch of gretchin. How far will he go in his quest, and is the Red Gobbo really the answer he's looking for? THE STORY When the bitter cold of a nuclear winter bites at a Blood Axe encampment and the grots fall into a terrifyingly compliant depression, painboy Stimma is forced to try the unthinkable. With no Red Gobbo around to stir the grots from their malaise, he must make one, using science, cunning and acts of incredible violence. As Stimma hunts for knowledge, accompanied by the orderly grot Goggulz, he unravels the mystery of the Red Gobbo, delves into the bizarre world of ork revolushunaries, and unpacks visions that hint at the origins of grotkind. And soon, Stimma discovers the Red Gobbo is no mere grot - and much more than he bargained for. Written by Rhuairidh James.

A Zothar Athrabis Novel Zothar is an Ossiarch Bonereaper who rules over a city in Shyish. He bargained with Nagash to preserve his dead son's soul, choosing a new host from the victor of the Games – a festival that takes place once each decade. When Zothar breaks tradition and raises Lycus, the current champion, as his own son, his actions incite a bloody rebellion amongst the citizens. READ IT BECAUSE It’s a fascinating look at what passes for normal life in the realm of Shyish, where the living and the dead walk side by side, and everyday existence is filled with danger, adventure, and no shortage of bizarre and mystical creatures. THE STORY In a forgotten corner of Shyish, the city of Lament prepares for the most important festival in its calendar, the Games – a series of events that will seal the fate of their victor. Following the tragic death of his son many centuries ago, the cruel Vulture Lord, King Zothar Athrabis, made a terrible bargain with Nagash to preserve his child’s soul. Now, once every 10 years, the new champion of the Games must host the boy’s tormented spirit, while the old vessel is condemned to death. Most citizens of Lament deem this a great honour, but when the city’s newly crowned champion, Lycus, is taken by the king to raise as his own, his family question their sacrifice. As the years pass and a new decade looms ever closer – and with it Lycus’ grisly fate – the Prince of Athrabis is caught between his duty to his new father and the prospect of escaping death to return to his old life. As fierce, bloody rebellion ensues and Lycus is exposed to violent truths, he must decide once and for all where his loyalties lie. Written by Richard Strachan.

A Warhammer Age of Sigmar Novel Heldanarr Fall just wants to be left in peace in Aqshy, but the gleaming golden warriors of Sigmar won’t let him be. So he fights back – and draws upon a more primal power. READ IT BECAUSE It's a Mortal Realms story with a twist – a virtuous man succumbs to the path of darkness, and wages a war against Sigmar himself. THE STORY Heldanarr Fall dreams of a world without gods. When the Azyrites descended upon the Burning Valley – a kingdom carved from the Aqshian desert – they brought arrogance and cruelty with their riches, and a god who seemed blind to it all. Despite harrowing losses, Held clung to his people’s ways, forging a new existence without a single prayer to the armoured deity, Sigmar. Now, all Held wants is solitude. But after saving a Sigmarite priestess from violent death, her troubles catch up to them and destroy the last of his peace. First broken, then enraged, he launches a brutal war of vengeance against Sigmar’s worshippers and soon finds himself thrust against the Stormcast Eternals, led by the cunning strategist Ildrid Stormsworn. Alone, he cannot hope to win, yet surrender would mean accepting the mercy of a god he despises. To defeat the Stormcasts and avenge his fate, Held must embrace older, darker powers that risk the very freedom for which he fights. But when Sigmar's rulers are tyrants and the Champions of Chaos prove worthy, which path is the most righteous? And once he makes his choice, who will Heldanarr Fall become? Written by Noah Van Nguyen.

A Warhammer Age of Sigmar Novel Zograt was once a puny runt of a grot, but thanks to his brilliant cunning, the blessing of the Bad Moon, and a loyal troggoth, he's now ready to prove himself the greatest Loonboss ever. READ IT BECAUSE Follow a rags-to-riches story of a weak and weaselly git who now aspires to be seen as the best Loonboss in all the Mortal Realms! Of course, not everyone's going to let him have things his own way. THE STORY Despite being gifted with superior cunning, Zograt was born a puny git with a hammy leg. As the weakest runt of his tribe, he was always one beating away from a nasty end until the Bad Moon bestowed a blessing upon him. Now, Zogrot wields the Clammy Hand, and back-stabbing gitz scurry to his cause, afraid of the vengeance their new boss will inflict with his powerful magic. But for every grot suffocated with noxious fungi, Zograt stages a magnanimous gesture, for he is all too wary that power is fragile. Yet in his heart boils an obsession – to become the most formidable Loonboss ever. Where better to proclaim his new-found majesty than the gloom-shrouded mountain of Muttering Peak? To lay claim to his throne, Zograt must evade a sinister coven of wizards that seek to harness the power of the mountain for their own dark designs. But with his razor-sharp mind and a loyal troggoth at his side, Zograt’s ambitions may not be so daft, after all. Written by Andy Clark.

Cairn Wraiths are amongst the most powerful of the Undead. Though they lack physical form, their touch drains the life of a mortal. Their very presence fills the air with dread, and most who face them are driven mad with fear long before they are killed. Filled with rage, these vengeful spirits fall upon their enemies, tearing them apart with great sweeps of their ancient, magical scythes. In return, those who do stand against them find their pitiful attacks merely pass straight through the Cairn Wraith, making contact with nothing but foul air and tattered robes. It doesn't take long for the Wraiths to punish them for their insolence. This plastic kit contains one Cairn Wraith - a finely detailed miniature that comes in 7 components (including 3 variant heads), supplied with a Citadel 25mm Round base. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly - we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Paints.

The Myrmourn banshees have a diabolical hunger, for they feast solely upon magic. No enemy spell is safe from the ravenous spirits, and they haunt the Mortal Realms in search of arcane energies to consume. Myrmourn Banshees are drawn to magic as carrion are drawn to the dead, and such is their bitterness toward life that any mortal creature in their way is likely to receive a swift jab from their cursed chill daggers. Sinister and shrieking, the Myrmourn banshees are a set of 4 Nighthaunt miniatures with a sense of despair about them – little more than empty bodices surrounded by ethereal vapour, shrouds covering skulls trapped in a screaming rictus, they drift and swoop weightlessly clutching their chill daggers. Each is hollow – this can be clearly seen, with the inside of each miniature visible. This kit comes as 16 components to build four Mymourn Banshees, and is supplied with 4 32mm sculpted round bases – these depict a sepulchral scene, with bones, broken statues and roses littering the graveyard the Banshees drift above. These push-fit miniatures can be assembled without glue and are supplied unpainted – we recommend using Citadel Colour paints.

The Dreadblade Harrows are the officers beneath the Knights of Shrouds. In life, each of these wights watched their leader’s betrayal, neither helping nor hindering. Even for Nighthaunts, Deadblade Harrows are especially discorporate, phantasmal figures who can disappear and reappear at will. They are the Knights of Regret, full of bitter recrimination, who in battle serve as bodyguards and lieutenants or are despatched as outriders. Rearing upon their spectral steeds, they vanish into wisps of mist only to gallop out of thin air elsewhere to carry out the most unchivalrous commands – culling the vulnerable, cutting off retreating warriors, and other heinous tasks. The Dreadblade Harrows are a pair of mounted spectral knights, seemingly a touch more solid than many of their Nighthaunt brethren, but no less sinister. Each is armed with a dreadblade held aloft in their right hand, with their left hands clutching the reins – one set spiked, one set ornate – of their steed. Not much else is visible of the Harrows themselves, with a helmeted skull peering out from beneath their cloak. Their mount is large and muscular; its ethereal skin is torn and tattered, making its ribcage visible, with its head being no more than a skull. The rear of the steed is depicted as tailing off into ethereal vapour, as the Harrow emerges from nothing to attack. This kit comes as 12 push-fit components to build two Dreadblade Harrows, and is supplied with 2 textured 60mm oval bases – these feature the graveyard detritus expected from the Nighthaunt. These push-fit miniatures can be assembled without glue and are supplied unpainted – we recommend using Citadel Colour paints.
