Tournament standings, requirements and rules:
The first matchup will be randomized, nad the following rounds will be paired according to the overall tournament standings (the strongest will be playing against the strongest).
Tournament standings will be rated in the following order: 1. Number of wins, draws and losses 2. Further tied players will be rated according to the difference in points of their played games (this encourages not only scoring your own points, but also the denial of your opponent‘s points). 3. Further tied players will be rated according to the games played among them 4. Further tied players will split shared tournament standings.
Painting – highly encouraged but not mandatory. No additional tournament points will be awarded for painted armies and unpainted armies will not be penalized in any way. However, we still have three weeks until the event and there aren‘t that many models to paint, so let‘s just use this event as a specific deadline for catching up with your hobby time.
Models have to be fully assembled and put on appropriately sized bases. Proxies are not allowed, but alternate models and / or conversions are allowed only if they are on the correctly sized base, are fully painted, and fit in thematically. Old and discontinued sculpts are allowed, but make sure they have the right size bases. „This dragon will play as a cannon because they have the same base“ will count as a proxy and will not work. „This wood elf with a bow will play as a Lumineth archer, and this wood elf warrior with a spear will play as a Lumineth spearman“ – totally valid alternatives, just make sure to follow painting and base requirements and specifically point out which models represent which so as to avoid any confusion during the game. If in doubt – as me before the event.
Terrain: we might me short of several pieces of official spearhead terrain, so we will use the closest alternatives from warcry. We will follow terrain rules as they are described in the rulebook.
Dice: both players will be playing the same dice set, this will keep things more friendly and transparent. If the two of you can’t decide whose dice are prettier, you’ll be given a set of basic white dice.
What to bring: there will be several measuring devices in the club, but probably not enough for everyone, so bring yours. 3″ gauges are handy. For dice: take some, but see above. Terrain, boards and cards will be provided. There might not be enough rulebooks, so have the AoS app at hand, it currently still contains all info on Spearhead.
We will play using the full spearhead rules. The defender will choose the board side.
