While massed infantry can overwhelm the foe, it often falls to Heavy Weapons Squads to deliver the killing blow. These teams of gun crews swiftly set up their mobile heavy weapons as their comrades advance, providing the firepower to bolster battle lines. With access to an arsenal of portable armaments, they can offer close fire support with adaptable loadouts of precise – or indiscriminate – firepower. This multipart plastic kit builds three Heavy Weapons Teams – paired infantry soldiers crewing a portable gun. Each team can be armed with your choice of a heavy bolter, missile launcher, mortar, autocannon, or lascannon. The kit includes plenty of cosmetic options to mix things up – extra ammo, seven different heads, a variety of poses, and equipment such as vox-sets and magnoculars for spotters and loaders – so no two teams ever need look alike. These teams can be fielded together as Heavy Weapons Squads, or combined with the Cadian Shock Troops kit to form Infantry Squads with attached Heavy Weapons Teams. This kit comprises 127 plastic components, and is supplied with 3x Citadel 50mm Round Bases. Possessed are bestial slaughter incarnate – Astartes warriors merged with fell daemons of the Chaos Gods in a blasphemous union. Warped and mutated by their empyric parasites, the armoured forms of the Possessed flow like wax, shrugging off lethal blows as they manifest talons, snapping maws, and vestigial wings to unleash an unholy orgy of bloodshed. This multipart plastic kit builds five Possessed, monstrous close combat fighters who bear a host of repulsive mutations, from claws and tentacles to bladed limbs. Each model comes with a variety of cosmetic choices – including alternative heads, daemonic limbs, interchangeable backpacks, and other accessories – to ensure that no two models look the same, even within larger units or multiple squads of half-daemon monstrosities. The kit also includes an optional Chaos icon, for a Possessed Champion to invoke the dark blessings of the Ruinous Powers. This set comprises 56 plastic components and is supplied with 5x Citadel 40mm Round Bases. Devoted followers of Khaine, Witch Aelves spend their entire lives dedicated to serving their bloodthirsty deity. Weapons practice and mock duels take up the majority of their daily lives, yet these are not mere military drills, but religious services with all the gravitas other cults might use when offering prayers to their god. For Witch Aelves, ritual combat hones martial prowess and sates a craving for violence. On the battlefield, dancing like pale shadows, they weave a scarlet path through the orgy of destruction, revelling in the spray of jetting arteries. This multi-part plastic kit contains the components necessary to assemble a set of 10 Witch Aelves. They wear lightweight, minimal armour in order to move and flow more freely in their devotional bloodlust – what armour is there is beautifully ornate, finished by high leather boots. Each Witch Aelf carries a pair of wickedly sharp sacrificial knives, and they’re all posed in an appropriate pirouetting stance. There are 12 heads in the kit – 6 pairs of individual designs – each of which comes with an additional headdress. The leader of the unit, the Hag, can be identified by the extra-spiky headdress she wears. There are 2 banners with 3 different banner tops for standard bearers and a horn to denote the unit’s hornblower. The Witch Aelves come as 134 components, and are supplied with 10x Citadel 25mm Round bases and a banner transfer sheet. This kit can be optionally used to assemble 10 Sisters of Slaughter. -
Tyranid Warriors are the most adaptable of all the Hive Mind’s bioforms. They are efficient killing machines with the ability to employ a wide variety of bio-weapon symbiotes. On the battlefield they are found fighting in both close quarters and at long range, and form a vital link in the Tyranid swarm, acting as relays through which the Hive Tyrants issue their commands. The Tyranid Warrior models come in 3 distinct poses with every single combination of weapon available on the frame. There is a staggering choice of weapons to choose from including 3 pairs of lash whips; 3 pairs of spinefists; 3 devourers; 3 pairs of rending claws; 3 pairs of scything talons; 3 deathspitters; 3 pairs of boneswords; a venom cannon; a barbed strangler; and 3 pairs of flesh hooks. These can be taken in a variety of combinations depending on how you want to arm your Tyranid Warriors. This kit also includes the option to make a Tyranid Prime. This monster is distinguished with its own chest plate; head and crest; shoulder guards; and has the option to add a scythed tail. As well as this multitude of options there are also enough adrenal glands and toxic sacs to add to the entire unit, and a choice of 4 different faces for the Warriors. This plastic kit contains 89 components with which to make 3 Tyranid Warriors, or 2 Tyranid Warriors and a Tyranid Prime. This kit comes supplied unpainted and requires assembly - we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Paints. -
The Brutalis Dreadnought is a line breaker and a terror weapon – a bipedal combat walker, armed for close combat and piloted by a fallen hero of its Chapter. This hulking war machine lays down a hail of covering fire as it storms towards the enemy lines, but the greatest threat lies in its massive arms. Mounted with crushing fists or ceramite-sheathed talons, these can crush an armoured warrior like spoiled fruit or punch through a bunker wall like parchment. This multipart plastic kit builds one Brutalis Dreadnought, an imposing melee-focused war machine. This powerful walker can be equipped with armoured fists that feature integrated bolt rifles, or a pair of sharpened talons for shredding armour and infantry alike. It also sports twinned Icarus ironhail heavy stubbers atop its hull, and a pair of chassis-mounted weapons – either heavy bolters or tank-busting multi-meltas. This impressive kit is tremendously customisable – you can create your own intimidating pose using joints in the legs, arms, waist, and even its mechanical toes and fingers. Glueless assembly options allow you to adjust the position of the frontal armour – revealing the sarcophagus within – as well as the secondary weapons. You'll even find a choice of armour decorations. This kit contains 131 plastic components, 1x Citadel 90mm Round Base, and a Space Marines Vehicles Transfer Sheet. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints. -

Bloodthirsters are the mightiest of Khorne’s daemons, the fury of war given terrible form. Every one of these towering beasts is the equal of an entire mortal army. This multi-part plastic kit allows you to make any one of three specific types of Bloodthirster: the Wrath of Khorne Bloodthirster, the Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage, or the Bloodthirster of Unfettered Fury. The Wrath of Khorne Bloodthirster is armed with a wrathaxe - a double-headed axe that bears two equal-sized blades - and a bloodflail. The head is designed to represent the classic Bloodthirster hounds face, framed with the Khorne icon. The Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage is armed with an enormous double-handed axe. His head has a fanged maw with a forked tongue protruding between the teeth, and there are four horns atop his head. The Bloodthirster of Unfettered Fury is armed with an axe - a double-headed version with two different sized blades - and a long whip. As with the other Bloodthirsters there is a specific head for this variant; the most gruesomely skull-like of the three. Whichever variant you choose to build, the model is absolutely covered in the iconography of Khorne, from the weapons through to the pair of wings and armour detailing. There is a choice of two sets of legs, either running or leaping atop flames. There are three different torso fronts, two designs of belly plates, two choices of loincloth and the option of adding armour plates to the legs and torso should you wish. All in all, this model is a total monster, in every sense of the word. The Khorne Bloodthirster has 80 components and is supplied with a 120 mm x 92 mm Citadel base. -
She is the Mourning Bride, the Unrequited Queen, the Veiled Lady and the Mortarch of Grief. She is despair made manifest, gloom given form. She is Lady Olynder, and in her are bound all the sorrows and anguishes of the realms. Her power transcends the melancholic, for she exudes mind-crippling waves of pure desolation. Mortals in her presence are overwhelmed by a gloom so heavy that only the strongest willed can stay upright. Most fall to their knees, mentally battered by their own utter hopelessness. It is a sorrow potent enough to cause a mother to forsake her child, a warrior to lay down his sword and accept the inevitable, to stop a beating heart. This multi-part plastic kit contains the components necessary to assemble Lady Olynder, Mortarch of Grief. As the Mortarch of Grief, she is surrounded by an aura of absolute misery – this miniature does an impressive job of capturing the bleakness. Hovering above the ground in her ghastly bridal dress and veil, little can actually be seen of her form other than the outline of a skull. Her bridal train, ruined and shredded, flows out behind her, with a wisp of this ethereal garment attaching the miniature to its base. Thorny vines of grave-roses, which sprout wherever she floats, wrap themselves around her waist and up to her headdress, which itself resembles a thorned briar. In her right hand she wields the Staff of Midnight, an ornate stave topped with a polished gemstone of vitrified grave-sand. She is accompanied by 2 macabre Banshee Handmaidens, horrifying skull-faced spectres. Each carries a gift – an ensorcelled grave-sand hourglass given by Nagash himself which can be smashed asunder with lethal effect, and a sealed casket, the contents of which are a mystery; hardly likely to be anything at all positive... This model comes as 23 components, and is supplied with a Citadel 60mm Round base. -
Like a hungry predator on the prowl, the Hammerhead Gunship is a menacing sight. It skims over a planet's surface with its massive turret-mounted gun swivelling back and forth to track potential targets before unleashing a devastating salvo to destroy them utterly. The Hammerhead Gunship kit is an impressive centrepiece to a collection of T'au Empire miniatures. Notable about the kit is the laterally extended nose, the tips of which can feature a pair of burst cannons or smart missiles systems. Its sleek panels curve up towards a wider body that can support a fearsome turret-mounted gun – either a railgun or ion cannon – which can swivel in different directions. It features two vectored engines, which can also be tilted at various angles. The kit also comes with a pair of optional weapon upgrades in the form of powerful seeker missiles. This multipart plastic kit contains 88 components and a T'au transfer sheet, and can be assembled as either a Hammerhead Gunship or a Sky Ray Gunship. This kit comes supplied unpainted and requires assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Paints. -
In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war. The galaxy writhes in the mailed fist of all-consuming war. The Imperium teeters on the brink of annihilation, beset upon all sides by heretic warlords, daemon-summoning witches, and rapacious alien empires. The Great Rift sunders the void, a ragged wound torn through the heart of the Emperor's realm and bleeding madness and mutation across all. In every star system and upon every planet, battle rages more fiercely than ever before as loyalists, heretics, and aliens tear reality itself apart in their war dominance. Every day the flames rise higher – this is a more terrible era than ever before, for there is no peace amongst the stars… The Book This 280-page hardback book is an essential guide to Warhammer 40,000, and contains everything you need to know to collect, build, paint, and play with Citadel miniatures in the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium. You'll find an overview of the Warhammer 40,000 hobby in all its aspects, core rules for playing out battles that range from small skirmishes to massive Onslaught games, and an in-depth introduction to this rich and ruinous setting through immersive lore, stunning illustrations and photography, and an evocative look at each of the factions waging war in the far future. THE WARHAMMER 40,000 HOBBY The book opens with an introduction to this amazing hobby through its four keys – Collect, Build, Paint, and Play. You'll find out how to start your collection of Citadel miniatures, learn how people build and paint their models, and get suggestions to tools and guides that will help further. You'll also begin your journey as a commander with a look at how, where, and why players engage in dynamic tabletop battles of Warhammer 40,000, an example Battle Report between two armies, and an explanation of different styles of play – self-contained Combat Patrols, competitive Chapter Approved games, and narrative Crusade campaigns. DARK IMPERIUM This expansive lore section provides a doorway into the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium. It is a far-distant future dominated by an oppressive and corrupt Human empire, its crumbling borders defended by doomed heroes and imperiled by threats from both without and within, its history marked by ignorance and carnage and the laughter of thirsting gods. The first part of this guide explores the decaying Imperium and the galaxy in which it resides – the long-dead God-Emperor who sits eternal on his Golden Throne, the High Lords and Adeptus bureaucracies that rule in his name, the fanatical Ecclesiarchy which preaches the Imperial faith, the secretive Ordos of the all-seeing Inquisition, and the post-human Space Marines who fight battles no other could endure. You'll also discover the hellish dimension known as the warp, which fuels psychic mutation and interstellar travel, the mad Gods of Chaos who rule its infinite depths, the blasphemous cults that serve them, and the Great Rift that splits realspace itself in two. There's also a double-page galactic map, highlighting vital planets, systems, war zones, and warp storms. The second half delves into the history of the setting, from its myth-shrouded past to the apocalyptic clashes of its present. You'll find a timeline of Humanity's development through the Ages of Terra and Technology, the Ages of Strife and Darkness, all the way to the Age of the Imperium. You'll explore the superstitions that fuelled the Imperium's worship of lost technology and its fearful hatred of aliens and mutants, the Great Crusade through which the Emperor sought to unite Humanity, the Horus Heresy that set the galaxy aflame, and the millennia of war and loss that shaped the Imperium. Finally, you'll enter the Era Indomitus – marked by the opening of the Great Rift, the birth of a new God of Death, and the revival of the Primarch Roboute Guilliman. Even as the new Lord Regent's Indomitus Crusade strives to reunite the dying Imperium, a psychic awakening heralds a terrifying Age of Witches, and Abaddon the Despoiler plagues the galaxy with aid of the daemonic demigod Vashtorr and their Arks of Omen. The return of Lion El'Jonson, the First Primarch of the Emperor, only forestalls total disaster – and with the resurgence of Hive Fleet Leviathan, the galaxy may be reduced to nothing but food for an alien swarm. FACTIONS Explore each of the factions waging war in Warhammer 40,000, with detailed background information plus tactical descriptions and a miniature showcase of their Combat Patrols. The mustered Armies of the Imperium include mighty Space Marine Chapters, the ranks of the Astra Militarum, the fanatical cults of the Adeptus Mechanicus and Adepta Sororitas, and the golden guardians known as the Adeptus Custodes. The blasphemous Forces of Chaos feature ancient Traitor Legions and more recent Heretic Astartes, as well as the otherworldly Chaos Daemons. Finally, the insidious Xenos Threat ranges from the brutish Orks, mercenary Leagues of Votann, and expansionist T'au Empire to the ancient branches of Aeldari and Drukhari, the deathless Necrons, and the ravening Tyranids and their Genestealer Cults. CORE RULES The Warhammer 40,000 Core Rules contain everything you need to know in order to wage glorious battle across the war-torn galaxy of the 41st Millennium. These basic rules are used for games of all sizes and styles, and provide a foundation for use with other supplements. You'll learn the general principles and core concepts of Warhammer 40,000, the datasheets and characteristics used by your models, and the rules that apply to the five phases of the game: the Command phase, the Movement phase, the Shooting phase, the Charge phase, and the Fight phase. You'll also find Stratagems and abilities used by all armies, as well as additional rules for elements like Strategic Reserves, terrain features, and aircraft. Lastly, there are rules for mustering an army, setting up your models for a game, controlling objectives to claim victory, and a mission – Only War – to get you started playing right away. COMBAT PATROL Combat Patrol is the ideal starting point for playing Warhammer 40,000. Fast-paced and quick to learn, it uses the Core Rules to play out tactical clashes that should last up to one hour, using only the contents of Combat Patrol boxes. These forces each have bespoke, self-contained rules which are presented online and in other publications, and provide everything you need to get playing. This section provides an introduction to the Combat Patrol game mode, an explanation of the Battle Ready standard of painting for games, and six different Combat Patrol missions – Clash of Patrols, Archeotech Recovery, Forward Outpost, Scorched Earth, Sweeping Raid, and Display of Might – each with their own objectives, mission rules, and deployment maps for a variety of game experiences. The book concludes with a separate index for the Core Rules, acting as a handy reference for use while playing games.
