This is the time of turmoil. This is the era of war. This is the Age of Sigmar! Since the breaking of Sigmar's Tempest, the peoples of the Mortal Realms have fought tooth and nail for those islands of civilisation they have established. Every city is blackened by the fires of war, every populace harrowed by the ordeal of simple survival. But now, the Hour of Ruin has come, the fabric of reality splitting as numberless hordes of rat-like Skaven capsize decades of progress. Yet, the hosts of Sigmar are still marching. They know full well that the cycle of endless war is inescapable, taking its toll on even the mighty Stormcast Eternals. But though the candle of hope gutters, it burns bright enough to inspire a thousand selfless acts. The Book This 288-page hardback book is the ultimate companion for all players of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, whether veterans or novices. It contains everything you need to know to collect, build, paint, and play with Citadel miniatures in the Mortal Realms. The Warhammer Age of Sigmar Hobby The book opens with an introduction to the Warhammer hobby. Alongside the concept of the game, this section discusses the various aspects of the hobby, including collecting an army, building and painting miniatures, playing Warhammer Age of Sigmar, and choosing your way to play. The Mortal Realms This section provides a comprehensive overview of each realm and its current state, with the narrative presented from the perspective of the realm's inhabitants, such as soldiers, witch hunters, and more. History of the Realms Get a primer of the key narrative events from the history of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, including summaries of key events such as the awakening of Kragnos and the Twin-Tailed Crusade. Factions at War A background overview of the various factions from each Grand Alliance – Order, Chaos, Death, and Destruction. You'll find incredible artwork, a miniatures showcase, and additional information about key characters or important pieces of lore. The Rules The book's Rules section is divided into three major sections: Core Rules, Advanced Rules, and a Glossary. You'll also find an overview of Battlepacks, making it easy to understand which ones best suit how you like to play. Finally, there are rules for terrain, and the various game formats, such as Spearhead, Path to Glory, and Matched Play. • Sanctioners are semi-sentient servo-automata, employed by Palanite Enforcers in times of particular crisis. These hulking cybernetic brutes are controlled by the salvaged cranial remains of particularly merciless Enforcers, psycho-conditioned for utter dedication to the letter of the law. As such, they are known on the streets of Necromunda as ‘Lawtomata’, relentless armoured constructs protected by thick carapace plating, shrugging off small arms fire and putting down whole uprisings with heavier weaponry than any flesh-and-blood Enforcer could bring to bear. This multipart plastic kit builds two Enforcer 'Sanctioner' Pattern Automata, armoured robots that can be used by any Palanite Enforcer gang. Each of these cybernetic sluggers sports a built-in grenade launcher and can be armed with a variety of fearsome weaponry – the kit includes two right-handed pacifier assault claws, as well as two heavy shock batons, two concussion cannons, two assault rams, and two mancatchers that can be mounted on either arm, or even both. Each Sanctioner's arms can be posed as you see fit, and the kit offers multiple ways to pose their legs, adding extra variety to your robot reinforcements. The kit comprises 104 plastic components, and comes with 2x Necromunda 40mm Round Bases. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints. Rules for using the Enforcer 'Sanctioner' Pattern Automata in your games of Necromunda can be found in The Aranthian Succession: Vaults of Temenos supplement.
  • Wherever the servants of Nurgle gather in large numbers and the blessed rot begins to set in, Feculent Gnarlmaws push their way up through the blighted soil. These disgusting trees ring with the sorrowful tolling of entropic chimes, belch clouds of daemonic spores, and shed rot-wet blossom to carpet the maggot-churned earth beneath their boughs. This multi-part plastic kit contains the components necessary to assemble a Feculent Gnarlmaw. Dominated by 3 large bulbs describing a Nurgle icon, covered in chitinous bumps and boils (this is not a model for the tryptophobic!), the Gnarlmaw looks almost like some struggling creature rather than the twisted tree it allegedly is. An enormous mouth runs up the centre of the trunk, with dozens of razor-sharp teeth lining it, while the few stunted branches that grow from it feature dismal bells, tentacles and more pustulent boils. A Nurgling is depicted emerging from the rear, and the base of the model is detailed with the skulls of those who have been foolish enough to venture near… The Feculent Gnarlmaw comes as 6 components, and can be used in games of Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
  • A Fane of Slaanesh is a focus of worship wrought in precious metal. Around it are laid offerings to the Dark Prince, but in truth it is one of his most exalted greater daemons that peers through. Those whose offerings meet with the creature’s approval are rewarded highly – but those who offend are justly punished. Available at no matched play points to all Slaanesh armies in Warhammer Age of Sigmar, the Fane of Slaanesh is a key tactical lynchpin in your army. By sacrificing their life force or their artefact of power, your Heroes can empower themselves, making your Keepers of Secrets, Heralds or any other champions you choose even deadlier. What’s more, summoning Daemons near the Fane of Slaanesh will reward you with depravity points, allowing you to bring even more onto the battlefield. This kit is supplied in 10 plastic components.
  • C'tan Shards are beings of near-unlimited power. They can manifest energy blasts, control the minds of lesser beings, manipulate the flow of time, and banish foes to alternate realities. Indeed, a C'tan Shard's abilities are limited only by two things: its imagination - which is immense - and glimmering memories of the being from which it was severed many years ago. While no C'tan Shard has full recall of the omnipotent creature it once was, each carries the personality and hubris of that far vaster and more puissant being. As such, these eccentric and unpredictable Shards will often dispatch their foes in an unexpected, though surprisingly pragmatic way. They could project a transdimensional thunderbolt from their fingertips, bombard their enemies with rocks and boulders, turn themselves into a singularity and destabilise gravity, or just fling their adversary backwards through time until they disintegrate. This box contains one C'tan Shard of The Nightbringer - a finely detailed resin cast kit that comes as six components, and is supplied with a 40mm Round Base. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly - we recommend using Citadel Super Glue and Citadel Paints
  • Sekhetar Robots are often employed by their sorcerous masters as prophetic sentinels to guard sites of power or stalk unwary interlopers. Inscribed with spells of illusion and obfuscation, Sekhetar Robots can be hidden, awaiting the moment to activate and turn their arcane weapons on the foe in bursts of empyric energy and sorcerous missiles. This multipart plastic kit builds two Sekhetar Robots, powerful battle automata for your Thousand Sons armies in games of Warhammer 40,000. These looming mechanical constructs are equipped with heavy warpflamers and hellfyre missile racks. They are also both armed with a pyreflux meltagun, which can optionally be replaced with a warpflame projector and power claw. They are ideal for guarding key objectives, easily keeping enemy warriors away with their lethal firepower. This kit comprises 40 plastic components and 2x Citadel 40mm Round Bases. These miniatures require assembly and are supplied unpainted – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.
  • Modern Citadel plastic kits are packed with details, extras, and add-on bits, including some very small pieces. The Citadel Tools design team had these fine details in mind when they redesigned the beloved cutters used by so many Warhammer hobbyists. This new set of Super Fine Detail Cutters includes a number of improved features: – Ultra thin blades (about three times smaller than the previous model) allow you to get into tight spaces with ease, increasing visibility and control – Blades meet perfectly flush on the back, reducing the amount of additional cleanup needed and reducing the risk of pieces pinging away when used properly – Bump-stopping design makes it impossible to mash the blades together with too much pressure, which means they’ll stay sharp for longer – Rubberised contoured handles, including flares near the blades for added control, precision, and safety. – Extended handles to reduce the pressure required to make a cut, reducing hand fatigue
